Since you cannot enable the shell for collectorlogin and are receiving errors it seems that definitely there is something corrupted with the attempt of upgrade and it seems that the best course of action is a migration of a new ova.

Hi Jason,
Safe and faster way is to re-deploy considering how old CSPC version that you have. For re-deployment, you will find all information in below link.
Please do let me know if you have any specific concern on this.
Thanks,
Supriya

Hi Jason,
Could you please private message me company name and collector id for record?
Thanks,
Supriya

Jason I have an additional question to you besides the Company name and certificate.
Do you have the passwords to access to the CLI user collectorlogin and root if so collect via ssh to the user collectologin then once in use the command su root and connect top root and then run the following below
if so please send me the output of the following commands ?
tail -f /opt/LCM/logs/apply
tail -f /opt/LCM/logs/install
if you do not have the passwords for this users. from the shell user admin you can set them by using the following commands
pwdreset collectorlogin 90
it will give you a password for collectorlogin
then do the same for root
pwdreset root 90
once you have the output please send me
if you do not have these accounts set

We are currently on Release 2.5.1.6 so we wont have the username collectorlogin. Should we rather
just perform a fresh install with release 2.7 ?

I can see you are using a PSS image so I am assuming this is a PSS account instead of the SNTC. In the future you may pursue the PSS community as sometimes there may be a difference in resolution.
In any case
the 55 on the last line of the install log means 55% completed on Monday run that command again and verify if there is any significant improvement in percentage.. If there is or it is completed I would leave until completed. If it still at 55 , save your credentials and device list and reboot the box and when back on the admin shell do the command below:
admin#download sp-30.0.0-0-0-lnx64
and see if it does the job of downloading,
from 2.5.1.6 you cannot upgrade to 2.7.3 or 2.7.3.1 you must upgrade first to 2.7 main
so in any situation you must first use the below first
admin# apply sp-30.0.0-0-0-lnx64
as far as the user collectorlogin and the user root you will very likely need this since in many instances the upgrade of the CSPC from older versions to new versions may temporarily break the admin mini shell. all versions including 2.5 X has those logins but they are not set by default. I strong recommend you from the admin shell run the following commands below to get those accounts and passwords set
admin# pwdreset collectorlogin 90
admin# pwdreset root 90
additionally sudo will not be available as soon as you upgrade
02-05-2018 04:24 PM
Were you able to review the progress ? and/or issue the additional commands?

There was a typo on my instructions for collectorlogin the command is :
pwdreset collectorlogin 90
you cannot su from admin shell. Do the command above to get the collectorlogin passwd and open a separate shell with collectorlogin then within the collectorlogin shell you su to root using the password you have gathered with the command above
then do the following command on the # root shell -
tail -200 /opt/LCM/logs/install
tail -200 /opt/LCM/logs/apply
so that I can review the log
