How are Smartnet Total Care rights / contracts transferred in the event of a corporate merger or acquisition?

Please, please, please, for heaven's sake, don't spam the support forums with flippant stock answers that don't even come close to answering the question. It discourages people who genuinely know what they're talking about and have useful things to say from responding - especially if they see a response from somebody who is identified as being from Cisco. If you don't have a real answer, then skip it like any sensible person should. Responses like this make the forums far less useful.
The SNTC user guide doesn't even mention this issue, let alone "can help answer some of your questions." And the reason I'm resorting to the forums is because our partner and local account representatives can't give anything resembling a definitive answer.
