Unable to upload to backend

After upgraded from CSPC 2.5 to 2.6 I can no longer upload my files to concsoweb-prd.cisco.com.

There are no blocks in the firewall, and I can use NetCat to verify connectivity on 443/80/5222 etc. But using the web interface I get an error 'Unable to upload to backend'. (See Attached Screenshot)

I'm not sure if there is a legitimate error from this file. I suspect its a CCO login problem? (I don't want to FTP the files so I'm not worried about creating a directory. )

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Mark,

What is the name of the collection profile you are running? Also, in the CSPC, if you go to Settings > Application Settings > Export Options, what does it say your upload method is?

  Is there any update to this issue?  Our inventory is out of date at this point, over the new year, which is alarming as we need to get an accurate view of covered devices through 2017 ASAP.  Thanks!

A workaround to at least get your data on the portal is to perform an upload manually.

You'd need to extract the transport file using: http://www.cisco.com/E-Learning/gfo_npi_training/cdc_bulk/PSS_GTM/PSS_IBMgmt_User_Training/SMD_ManualCSPCTransportDownload.htm

Then, on the portal, select the "file import" option.

That link does not work, says "Restricted" even when I'm logged in.  I just need to know the file path on the CSPC that has the collection file in it.  Can you tell me that?

When an upload profile is run, a local copy of the file is stored in the following directory:

/opt/cisco/ss/adminshell/applications/CSPC/uploaddata

You will need root access to extract the file.

Looking at the log file you provided, you might have to reapply the entitlement file to your collector.

Give that a try and see if it helps with your upload issue.

To re-apply license:

On GUI: Help -> About -> View Properties -> License Properties -> Primary License.

I have already generated and uploaded a new entitlement file, but that didn't change the results.

  Is there any update to this issue?  Since upgrading from 2.5 to 2.6 we haven't been able to upload to the SNTC backend servers.  Manually uploading will not work for our organization, as the CSPC is supposed to offer automation for this.  Why have a CSPC if it cannot function automatically?

I understand your frustration, however your problem seems to be an exception which cannot be easily addressed via this forum exchange.

If you have a support contract, a TAC case would certainly be the way to go.

It appears that the problems still persist even after the troubleshooting steps you have performed.

Product management is finalizing the next release of CSPC, (CSPC 2.7) - which is scheduled for release sometime this quarter from what I've learned. It will definitely be an option to upgrade to 2.7 once released to hopefully resolve your problem.

Apart from that, we certainly don't have a lot of options.

  This issue is compounded today by the fact that the SNTC Portal is now rejecting my CSPC upload file. (Worked 2/6, doesn't work today - nothing changed on our end)  Now it seems both the automatic and manual upload options for me are not working.  The Company has spent a lot of time and money investing in this solution only to have it fail for no apparent reason.  The contract you speak of for TAC on this is upwards of $40,000.  That is a very premium price to be able to get real support and resolution for this issue, when in reality the automatic collection of devices is designed to ultimately benefit Cisco.  Disappointing indeed.

I've checked with the backend team, they mention that the manual file import should be working. Can you please share details, such as screenshots of any errors you get to at least get that looked at for you?
