UNREACHABLE NODES IN CSPC 2.8

Hi Experts,

So, Managed nodes = Live Nodes + Unreachable Nodes

I would like to get more information on Unreachable nodes. What are they ?

I did exported all the unreachable nodes and ran a ping sweep on them. Some of them responded to the ping and some of them did not. But, the exciting fact is the devices which failed to respond the ping are being uploaded to the SNTC portal. Might be the device was reachable before and also was uploaded during collection.

Trying to escalate all those unreachable nodes to the live nodes.

Do i really need to worry about those unreachable nodes ?

Regards,

Nabin.

Hi Nabin,

If you are able to ping from collector to device and SNMP credential is correct, then I would check if an ACL that may be blocking the SNMP request. This devices show up as unreachable for CSPC.

Once way to validate the test between the CSPC and device is by logging into the CLI user as 'root' and run a manual SNMPwalk command to see the output.

SNMPv2c:
snmpwalk -v 2c -c <ROCommunityString> <IPAddress>

Thanks,

Supriya
