Roy,

There are several more detailed "How to" videos about user setting up user access to the portal.  Here are the links:

Delegated Admin Overview:

http://www.cisco.com/E-Learning/bulk/subscribed/SNTC_vods_EN/Delegated_Administration_Overview.mp4

User/Company Association:

Assigning Roles:

I hope these help.

Can I ask a follow up question to the group? I am working on my Smart Net contract currently.

Cisco has told me that Cisco Smart Net Total Care is free if you are purchasing Smart Net contracts.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is the software free or do you have to purchase it? I am getting lots of conflicting information and hoping I can get clarification on this.

Thank you for your help!

Jim,

To have access to the "free" Total Care collector software, you will need to have an active Smartnet contract with devices being verified under support of that contract.  There is a registration process where your CCO ID and contract information is verified.  Once verified you would be directed to either accept the DA role, or be directed to your companies DA if one currently exists.

After the registration process is complete, you would have access in Smart Services Connection portal which provides the Download software link for the CSPC v2.5 collector VM software image.

Once downloaded and installed there is a entitlement information you would enter to complete the process.  Once that is done, you are good to go with Total Care.

Difference with this process versus the For Fee offer is that the only support available would be via this community.  If support is required or deployment assistance required, then you would look at purchasing an offer called Smart Assist which provides Cisco full assistance and support during deployment and the term of the Smart Assist contract.

I would recommend you review this blog post first; Are you setting up a collector for the first time? If so, please read this blog (https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/12696871/self-service-onboarding-setting-cspc-25-collector). It walks you through all the steps, including generating the entitlement license.

Thank you so very much for the feed back. I really appreciate it. That explains why I have been having issues getting the software. Our contract is expired and I am working on it currently. I was just having trouble figuring out if it was free or had to be purchased. Thank you again!

Jim
