Enabling IP Directed broadcast in SDA

Hello all,

We are running DNAC 2.3.5.5-70026. We have a subnet pool (vlan) dedicated to card readers which are silent hosts. In order to overcome problems related to silent hosts, we decided to enable ip-directed broadcast (and L2 flooding) for the specific vlan. After enabling the features we see that the vlan was created on the Border/Control Node with the addition of the commands "ip-directed broadcast" and "no autostate". I would assume that these commands should be pushed down to all Fabric Edges of the site. But none of the FE where updated with the commands. Is this the correct behavior? What am I missing?

no. it has to be on BN: Solved: SDA IP Directed Broadcast feature - Cisco Community

just out of curiosity: does SVI on the BN look like Anycast GW configuration on your ENs?

u can also consider deploying ip sla icmp-echo to subnet's BC-address via network templates.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply. Also found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWJldJy26y8

To answer your question, the initial loopback was indeed removed from the BN and the SVI was built, same as the Anycast gateway on the FE.

Cheers
