We have 2 Cisco MDS 9148's (main production), one of the 9148's is setup for vsan 10 and the other is setup for vsan 20. We have a 3rd MDS 9124 (isolated used for a backup setup), that has vsan 30 on figured on it. We would like to connect the two MDS 9148's to the MDS 9124 so the MDS 9148's can see vsan 30.

2 MDS 9148 represent Fabric A and Fabric B ? If yes you don't want to connect 9124 to both of them as you will cause fabrics to merge ..and that defeats the purpose of isolating fabrics for redundancy.

Hi dynamoxxx,
You are correct one is for fabric A and one for fabric B. What if you just connected one 9148 to the 9124?

connecting to one 9148 should be fine, you will create VSAN 30 on 9148, trunk that VSAN oven an ISL to 9124 and you should be in business.
