Dear sir,

Please advise below why i can ping but can't copy the .lic file into bootflash of ds-9124-k9 .  Currently the 9124 have existing running 8 which have default running license. I wish to add on additional .lic for extra ports. Please advise.

Thanks and appreciation.

Here are the steps I would recommend to narrow down problem

step 1 and 2 are to see if problem is ftp related

1) use following command to verify you can copy file from MDS to ftp server

copy bootflash: ftp:

2) verify you can copy file from ftp server to you local PC

3) "copy run  bootflash:test_run.cfg" and then "show log last 5" to check if there is error message.

or you can do "dir bootflash: | include test_run.cfg" to verify if file is created.

If step 3 was not able to create the file, something wrong with flash. please open TAC service request to further verification.

Or If the system has not been in production yet, you can back up startup configuration, running configuration and license files etc... to ftp/tftp servers. And then reload the switch to see if the flash problem goes away.
