Changing FC-Domain ID on Nexus 5Ks

Do we need to reboot the switch after I make changes to FC-Domain ID on Nexus 5K switch? Please let me know.

Hi,

No, you don't need to do a reload.

If there are no devices logged into the fabric ( show flogi database ) then you will have to do a domain restart.

    fcdomain restart vsan xxx

If there are devices logged into the fabric then you will have to do a disruptive domain restart.

This will cause all of the devices to have to log back in to get a new FCID since the domain ID is part of the FCID.

    fcdomain restart disruptive vsan xxx

Note: The disruptive keyword is a hidden command.
