Just a quick question because I could not find this in the Cisco document for MDS 9513.
We're replacing module 2's with module 3s. Since it's Active/Standby, I know I can shut down the Standby module 2 and replace with a module 3. The questions are:
1. Do I need to fail over to the standby module 3 to replace the module 2 or does failover occur automatically? Cisco's document doesn't say that it's auto-failover.
2. Do I have to restart the switch to get the full bandwidth? I seem to recall that only being if it's a OS upgrade in conjunction with a module upgrade as well. I need to know this so if a switch "reboot" is necessary I can give operations time to do that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
