Under what circumstances does this happen and is it being diagnosed ?

The diagnosis would be matching up the stacktrace of the PSOD.  It is an intermittent timing issue in the driver caused by the driver receiving out of order I/O (FC/FCoE drops somewhere in the fabric).  It should be fixed in fnic 1.6.0.17 or higher.

Hello Brian.

We have a semi-repeatable issue in our area and reported by customers

     Windows or Linux VM's on

     ESXi

     On USCB Blades .

We also see failures where I/O stops and no MPIO failover happens when a  FC target port is downed.

Ping me over at jdonnelly at vmem com

if you can help accelerate this.

 Thank you

We are using driver  finc 1.6.0.17 and are still having issues.

Hi,

Are you seeing a purple screen on the ESXi hosts?  If so, could you post a screenshot?  If you are not seeing a purple screen on ESXi it is probably not CSCuv09051.

Has a TAC SR been opened?  We will most likely need to review connectivity diagrams, configs, and UCS/OS logs as there could be multiple causes.
