HX SED Encryption for Cluster in production

Hello ,

 

I have a Customer that wants to enable encryption for a production cluster but he wants to understand what will be the impact of enabling the feature on exciting date on the cluster.

Assuming you have the required SED capable persistent disks and caching disks, enabling encryption, will be done on the fly, and will not require any downtime.

The existing data will simply become protected by the SED encryption, meaning the drives cannot be removed and put into another system without having the required passphrase to unlock.
