MDS 9506 Upgrade 4.2(9) to 5.2(2d)

Hi.

I need a help about upgrade the image. It's the first time I do by myself.

I ran:

show install all impact system bootflash:m9500-sf2ek9-mz.5.2.2d.bin kickstart m9500-sf2ek9-kickstart-mz.5.2.2d.bin

And returned:

Compatibility check is done:

Module  bootable          Impact  Install-type  Reason

------  --------  --------------  ------------  ------

     1       yes      disruptive         reset  Incompatible image

     5       yes      disruptive         reset  Incompatible image

     6       yes      disruptive         reset  Incompatible image

Is this, because I need the earlier version?

If yes, how version will I need upgrade first?

Hi Paulo,

It looks like you'll want a two step upgrade.

Nondisruptive Upgrade Paths if you are at 4.2(9)

1. Upgrade to NX-OS Release 5.0(x).
2. Upgrade to NX-OS Release 5.2(2d).
