Migration from MDS9216i to MDS9222i

                   Hi,

As MDS9216i is end of support after 30th October 2013. We will be migrating the existing SAN switches to CISCO recommended MDS9222i switch.

Primarily we are using 9216i as FCIP router for SAN extension (DC to NDR).

Is there any procedure available to migrate existing configuration from MDS9216i to new MDS9222i.

Please provide the link if it is available on CISCO site.

Thanks,

vinayak

Hi,

I'm not aware of a 9216i to 9222i migration documentation.

There is a procedure for replacing a switch here.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/storage/san_switches/mds9000/sw/rel_3_x/cookbook/MDScookbook31.pdf

Restoring a Fixed Switch Configuration.
Starting on Acrobat page 50 of 272 (or page 1-34)

You may have to deviate from the procedure to accommodate a different model switch, for example, any 9216i licenses will not work on the 9222i.

Regards,

David
