We are planing to connect Nexus 5548UP to UCS FI through FCoE link. Also we preffer to do the zoning in Nexus.
For abov requrement my understaning is we should run UCS in NPV mode(default in end-host-mode) and Nexus in NPIV mode.
Do we need any additional lisence for this??

I think there is a confusion here.
FI in NPV mode refers to classical fibre channel, Nexus in NPIV mode as well ! This would be a classical fibre channel solution
---------------------------------------------------------------
If you consider FCoE North bound, this is called multi hop FCoE; 1. hop between blade and FI, 2. hop between FI and N5k.
You configure a FI Ethernet port as a FCoE uplink port, and the same port as a Uplink port; the result will be a unified uplink port, transporting FCoE and IP.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The concept of a FCoE NPV on N5k exists as well (outside of UCS), see e.g. http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=2030048&seqNum=4
Configuration of the FCoE NPV mode on a Nexus 5x00 switch is similar to the configuration for the Fibre Channel NPV mode. The main difference is the configuration of an Ethernet port for the ISL and the VNP port.
Use case: FCoE NPV Configuration Between a Nexus 5000 and Nexus 7000, where we don't have native FC support on N7k.

Hi Ridma,
On the Nexus 5548UP
Note
: Before you begin this process, you need to have the FC_FEATURES_PKG license installed. If you enable the FCoE feature and you do not have the license installed, it enables a demo license for 180 days.
The information at this link should help with configuration:

Jim

Thanks Both of you for the expalantions.
Senario that i'm referring here is.
If we have only FCoE connction between UCS and N5K and if we need to do the zoning in N5K what mode should we chooes.
Thanks

Multi hop FCoE is your solution; have a look at
