Hi all,
I need to replace a Cisco MDS 9148 with a new Cisco MDS 9148S. I found the following documentation;
MDS 9000 Chassis Backup, Restoration, and Replacement Configuration Example, which is very good. But I still have a few questions. The Cisco MDS 9148 is running 5.2(8), and that version is not supported on Cisco MDS 9148S. If I copy the running-config from the Cisco MDS 9148 to the new Cisco MDS 9148S that is running a different version (NX-OS 6.x or 8.x) will it cause any issues? Or should I upgrade the Cisco MDS 9148 to the same version as MDS 9148S First? Are there any other points I should be aware of? Any other documentation to look at?
Thank you in advance,
Best Regards,

Hi vkbathala,
Just follow the instructions on MDS 9000 Chassis Backup, Restoration, and Replacement Configuration Example, you should be ok.
