With three of our 9509 switches we can Export or view the Syslog via Device Manager but on one of them, it prompts for an account. When you input the correct login details you get "Authentication failed"? Tried different accounts same thing?
Switches running 3.3(1c).

Hi Roy,
When you log in via Device Manager, you use SNMP and the SNMP-SERVER USER id.
When you view the switch resident syslog, Device Manager is going to open a CLI to the switch to do this and
present the data back in a window to Device Manager.
This is via SSH or Telnet and uses the username credentials for the same user as was used to open Device Manager.
If you have "both" SSH and Telent disabled for the switch, then it will just keep prompting you for user and password.
On Device Manager, check "Security >> SSH and Telnet " and make sure that either SSH or Telnet is enabled.
You can also test this by trying to open an SSH or Telnet session to the switch and logging in.

All the switches use ssh and we can login to all of them via CLI (Putty) without any issues.
We will be upgrading the firmware soon, so hopefully that fixes it.
Thanks

Found the problem, it was the SSH key on that switch, when we upgraded the firmware I got the "Server unexpectedly closed network connection" error while trying to connect via SHH through Putty. So the firmware upgrade was completed via Telnet instead. Afterwards I removed SSH but couldn't delete the old Key? Create a new SSH key and now SSH via Putty works and so does "Syslog" via Device Manager.
