I am stuck figuring the correct commands to create Layer 3 port-channel between the sg500x and a 3550.
On the SG500 I have:
interface Port-channel3
ip address 10.100.31.1 255.255.255.0
&
interface gigabitethernet1/1/19
channel-group 3 mode auto
no macro auto smartport
=======================
On the 3550:
interface Port-channel2
no switchport
ip address 10.100.31.2 255.255.255.0
&
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/22
no switchport
no ip address
channel-group 2 mode active
spanning-tree portfast
=====================
On the SX:
The LAG Management table says LACP Enabled, but link state is always State Down
Sh int port-channel shows the port-channel ports as non-candidate
On the 3550:
GigabitEthernet1/0/22 suspended: LACP currently not enabled on the remote port.
If i remove the SG port from the channel-group, it forms a trunk, so I think layer 1 is OK.
What am I missing?

Hi Emetesh,
Thank you for contacting Cisco online support center.
As per your configuration you have enabled LACP on the SG500X switch. Please find the below details on the syntax for SG500X for LACP.
Syntax
channel-group port-channel mode {on | auto}
no channel-group
Parameters
- on—Forces the port to join a channel without an LACP operation.
- auto—Forces the port to join a channel as a result of an LACP operation.
I think there is mismatch in the spanning tree settings. In 3550 spanning-tree portfast is enabled. Could you please remove and check the status?

Sorry, removing portfast didn't change anything. On a reset of the 3550 port, the link comes up for short period, then says suspended due to remote not enabled for LACP
