Cisco Switches series (200, 250, 350 and 500 series) OS Ver. Command

Dear All, 

we have Network Configuration Manager 3rd Party Software (Manage Engine) to get all detail of our Cisco switches.

The information we are missing is OS Version of the individual Switches and End of life date. Is there any command that can extract all this information other than "show version" ? or is these series mentioned above do not support OS version ? we require all of this information so we can gather all the vulnerabilities in our cisco version.

Please help so we can get all this intact with our 3rd party software.

Hi there,

The SG200 does not support CLI access so there is no way to run 'sh ver' to extract the OS version.

I suspect that your software is using SNMP, in which case the OID it needs to look at is: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1  (sysDescr.0)

This OID is available on all cisco platforms.

Is SNMP traffic permitted to the management plane on all of your switches?

Hi,

All the mentioned switches are firmware based. ‘Show version’ command will provide the firmware version on 250, 350 and 500 series switches but you will not get end-of-life date information with that command.

You may try deploying Cisco Business Dashboard in your Network to get the mentioned information related to Cisco Small business devices. Under ‘Reports’ menu, ‘Lifecycle’ and ‘End of Life’ reports will show that information for all the Cisco Business / Cisco Small Business devices deployed in your Network (if configured and deployed properly). An installation of Cisco Business Dashboard includes devices licenses for up to 25 devices. Any devices in excess of 25 will require the purchase of additional device licenses.
