Configurin VLAN (data) and VLAN (voice) on SFE2010

Hi, Amb trying to configure two vlans on a port, one for VoIP and another for data on a SFE2010

I've already configured the port as trunk and settled vlan20 (data) as untagged and vlan30 (VoIP) as tagged.

But the phone - which is connected to the switch and the PC to the Phone- shows "Protocol Application Invalid".

I tried to change the switch the tagged vlan, setting vlan20 as tagged and vlan30 as untagged, but then the Phone doesn't register, doesn't get an IP.

How can I configure both vlans on a interface and tell which one is for data and which for voice?

Regards,

Hello fgravalos

We will need more information to pinpoint the reason why you're experiencing this issue, a basic VoIP setup would be as follow:

Router------>Switch----->VoIP phone-----> Computer.

For that to work you'd need to have two VLANs on the router: one for voice and one for data, then both ports that connect the router and the switch with each other should be trunk ports allowing traffic from both VLANs and this should also be configured on the ports were you have the phones and computers connected to.

Usually connectivity problems happen when the router does not have the voice VLAN configured, or it does but it is not allowed to go through the port that's connecting the router to the switch so the voice traffic will never reach the phones. Also, please make sure that your switch is running the latest firmware and if you're still having problems after making sure all that is correctly setup please open a ticket using Cisco Support Case Manager and one of our engineers will be in touch with you.

Have a great day!
