Connecting two buildings with fiber

Hello Everyone,

I have two Cisco SG500-28 switches. I would like to run a approximately 300ft-360ft fiber cable from building A to B to connect these two switches.

I currently have easy access to single mode fiber for this run, but I am unsure of how to interface with the SFP port. I know SFP modules use multimode fiber. I assume there is SFP for single mode fiber?

Also would I need two single mode fiber strands for this (duplex vs simplex)? 

Is anything wrong with this setup?

I welcome any suggestions that would be helpful.

Depends on speed look below matrix which supports SMF (single-mode fibre) - i am guessing you looking to extend 1GB ?

Thanks for your response.

My switch is configured for standalone mode and not stacking. I could be wrong but am guessing 5GB would be achieve if it's stackable?

From the link you provided how do I know which module would be compatible with my switch? Is it just base on data speeds and connector types?

I am not sure you get any advantage of doing stacking here.....since they are 2 different locations,

look at the below document can help you what SFP you can use and also stack option(if you like to do so).

My switch model supports SFP only.

Deciding which SFP to go with will be determined by the cable core size?

Also is it just one fiber strand for send/receive? 
Or it depends on simplex/duplex SFP?

I am new to the fiber.

Note that, there is single-mode and multi-mode SFPs. For instance, you can use MGBLX1 or MGBLH1 1GE transceivers which are single-mode fibre, respectively supporting up to 10km and up to 40km. The aforementioned SFPs use one fibre strand for TX and another fibre strand for RX. If you are limited on the number of strands running between the switches, you can then use the MGBBX1 which leverages a single fibre strand for TX and RX. Unfortunately, this SFP is end-of-life/end-of-support. So the option is to find it somewhere from a third party seller. 

All SFPs are designed for LC connectors.
