SG-500 Native Vlan command deleted after switch reloading

Hi Everyone,

We have sg-500 switches, the issue is when we reload the switch ''switchport trunk native vlan #'' command is removed under the interface. However we have saved the configurations and also upgrade the ios version as well but no luck.

Can anyone help me out in this regard since we have live network.

Hi Faizan,

It will be good idea if auto Smart Port macro is not changing native vlan. Also is the native vlan the default vlan on the switch? Is the switch in layer 2 or layer 3?

Regards,
Aleksandra

Hi Aleksandra,

yes its a layer 3 switch where we are doing inter vlan routing. Secondly, native vlan is not considering as native vlan 1 we have configured native vlan as other number which is for data vlan.

Hi Faizan,

Thank you for more details. So I guess the first thing I would look at as the auto smart port macro running on the problematic interface. It may be good idea as a port of the narrowing down, to disable it.

Looking forward to your update.
Aleksandra

Hi Alexandra,

we have not configured this smart port macro on this. Can you please confirm if this runs by default on the switch. If it runs by default what exactly the command by which we disable it???

Regards

Faizan

Hi Faizan,

It runs by default and it will be good idea for you to have a look at the guide (page 1004):
https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/csbms/Sx500/cli_guide/CLI_500.pdf

to understand the concept better and perhaps use a different variant of it, otherwise just disable it globally.

Regards,
Aleksandra
