what you can do is to:

  1. reset switch into factory defaults (command delete startup-config)
  2. reboot switch (command reload - but do not save configuration once you get asked for)
  3. login with default credentials and run "show running-config" to see if situation get improved
  4. if crash will be the same, then proceed with RMA/replacement

It gives me that:
switchaea275#delete startup-config
Delete startup-config? (Y/N)[N] Y
switchaea275#20-Apr-2016 12:24:51 %FILE-I-DELETE: File Delete - file URL flash://startup-config

and the problem persist.

did you reloaded (or even more - power cycled) the unit after that deletion without saving running config?

yeah. I made it without saving the configuration and nothing change.

I think the problem can be the the incompatibility of the boot version?, or I'm wrong

This are the versions:

SW version 1.4.5.02 ( date 20-Apr-2016 time 12:22:49 )
Boot version 1.1.0.6 ( date 11-May-2011 time 18:31:00 )
HW version V02

I am unsure. Is it possible to boot secondary (older version) image?

show bootvar

you will see something like this:

switch#show bootvar
Image Filename Version Date Status
----- --------- --------- --------------------- -----------
1 image-1 1.4.2.4 21-Dec-2015 16:45:33 Not active
2 image-2 1.4.5.02 20-Apr-2016 12:22:49 Active*

"*" designates that the image was selected for the next boot

now try to boot the second (Not active) image with command:

switch#boot system image-1

and do reload again without saving config.

show bootvar gives me again

switchaea275#show bootvar

and the same when I try to choose some image (image-1 or image-2)

you can try to open Switch startup menu and try to perform two task - "erase flash file" and "Download software".

Switch startup menu could be invoked with pressing ESC key during Switch bootup - especially once you see following text displayed by switch:

Autoboot in 2 seconds - press RETURN or Esc. to abort and enter prom.

then the Menu will be shown. You can start with doing point 2 - "Erase Flash File" and doing reboot to see if situation get improved.

If no improvement, then you can try to do point 1 - "Download software" with following up the instructions in order to get image uploaded and used.

It ask me for a file name, wich file I must erase?

in the flash I have:

I think is botting from image-1 because it says:

I erased the startup-config,

I tryed erased the image-2 but it says

Delete operation is not permitted on file flash://image-2

thanks a lot Michal for the help, I appreciate to much

I fixed the problem of the firmware version, I could fixed with xmodem downgrading it to the version 1.1.2.0

I have now access to the running-config, bootvar, startup-config etc...

but the Switch's led is still blinking and all the ports are still down.

I did it again  "delete startup", "reloaded", and reset to the dactory settings... and nothing

I enter also to the interface and put no shutdown, just in case but the problem stills

I think the problem isn't in the firmware but one problem was fixed.

I put some captures:

nice progress.

but the Switch's led is still blinking and all the ports are still down.

that is possibly caused by incompatibility between existing very old firmware and your HW version of your switch.

now I would say:

  • provide output from "show version" in order to determine your boot code and HW version.
  • try to use a bit more new version of switch firmware. let's try to use Release 1.3.0.62 where couple of major changes have been introduced - probably again using Xmodem due lack of network connectivity to device. But avoid using newer software versions than 1.3.x for now as there are changes to boot code which could result to same crashes like on beginning.
  • Also it would be fine to see full switch boot text output as there could be some useful mention about system status.

Hi Michal

I already upgraded to the version 1.3.0.62 but the ports are still down and the led is still blinking

There are the versions:

SW version 1.3.0.62 ( date 02-May-2013 time 14:55:01 )
Boot version 1.1.0.6 ( date 11-May-2011 time 18:31:00 )
HW version V02

And there is the boot process

Boot1 Checksum Test...............................PASS

Boot2 Checksum Test...............................PASS

Flash Image Validation Test.......................PASS
