Interesting to me seem the topmost two of these four lines:

I already uploaded the newest firmware I found at Cisco via XModem.
Does anyone have any suggestion how to reanimate the switch?
All the best,
Heiko

- I don't think any of those are applicable (battery , jumper) ; it seems that the device can no longer read the serial number from some ROM component (probably). In my view you can only RMA for this case. You may want to have an opinion from Cisco :

I'm almost certain that is not an option anymore.
I agree with @marce1000 that it's most probably a hardware issue and that you should think of replacing it. You can check if it's covered by warranty or support here: https://cway.cisco.com/sncheck/

- This looks like a hardware issue to me , try a factory reset, which probably is the only thing to do as a last hope action ,

Hi,
THX for the reply. Pressing reset even for minutes does not take any effect. Still boot looping. Is there perhaps a battery I could disconnect or a jumper or something like that inside the switch?
I am thinking about what we called "CMOS reset" in former times.
All the best, Heiko

THX.
Device is out of warranty or support, so support by Small Business TAC is limited.
Cheers, Heiko
