Switch becoming unresponsive

Hi
I have gotten a Cisco sg300-28pp switch from my work, which was still in great shape.

I installed it, fully reset and simply configured some VLAN's, however nearly daily (sometimes twice daily) the switch and everything behind it gets unresponsive and not accessible:
http, https traffic just timeouts, accessing things behind it, access via IP directly works.

I literally tried everything and the issue always boils down to rebooting my switch, doing that seems to fix all the problems, however I currently have absolutely no idea what I could do to further debug nor what could be the issue.

Some little insight into my network: ISP Router > Opnsense > Switch > multiple Proxmox Nodes (Vlan 1) > Services on Proxmox (Vlan 20)

Huge thanks for any help!

I have not been able to test this, as the freezes sometimes do not occur for days and sometimes occur hourly.

But I can try to get the logs if the freezes appear, and report back.

Thanks anyway!

Don't mind the fan erros, they are working just fine.

The only log I see that really seems to be a problem is "%INIT-I-Startup: Cold Startup " but this is the consequence not the cause. Rather than that, I dont see anything else. Did you see anything related to high CPU? It could be Spanning-tree loop but for that happen you should have another device on the network.

I would start thing about firmware upgrade.

Thanks @Flavio Miranda !

It runs on the latest firmware(1.4.11.5)
I can't really see a really high CPU usage, however yeah the UI is quite slow, but I tought that is most likely due to the age of the software.

If you disconnect everything from the switch and keep it up, does the reboot also occours?

@Flavio MirandaNot sure if I explaind correctly, sorry!

I meant, I need to manually reboot the device to get it up again, after it becomes unresponsive.

The device does not reboot by itself.

Sorry, I may misunderstood. I should be asking if the device also freeze if you do not connect anything on it for a period of time.

I have not been able to test this, as the freezes sometimes do not occur for days and sometimes occur hourly.

But I can try to get the logs if the freezes appear, and report back.

Thanks anyway!

Sounds good.  Hope the logs show something interesting.
