Using a Cisco SG300-28PP PoE+ switch, I seem to continually get this error and I am not sure why.

Please assist.

Hi,

first of all I would look into physical connectivity on the port 6 such as cable, connected device. what is the type of the device connected?

Regards,

Aleksandra

a 5-foot Cat-6e cable is attached to an AppleTV device that is sitting a shelf down from the switch in the equipment rack.

Thank you,

Please take a look into the running configuration and check for port 6 settings. In running configuration you may see smartport macro.

also it is good practice to ensure you have the latest firmware and boot code:

firmware 1.4.2.88

boot code 1.3.5.06

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284867262&catid=268438038&softwareid=282463181&release=1.4.0.88&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Regards,

Aleksandra

I believe I am running the latest firmware and boot code but am enclosing both a Switch Summary and a detailed snapshot of the configuration of the port in question for your review.

Thank you!

Hi,

Boot code and firmware are the latest. For the port configuration can you please download running configuration file and share. you may use priviate message option on this forum.

Aleksandra

I don't seem to be able to PM you.

The only difference in this port and the other ports not associate with a Lag is this one is protected. Would that make a difference?

It did appear to be a bad cable.

thank you very much for your feedback :-)
