Good day All.
I need your support regarding the firmware update procedure for my Cisco WS-C2960-8TC-L.
I'm using it just for test purposes.
At the moment the software version is 12.2(35)SE5.
In the official page (link) the most updated version available is 15.2.7E11: I've downloaded it on my computer TAR format.
I've tried to update to 15.2.7E11 in 2 ways:
1) From browser interface
- It gets stuck without errors at the 1st point ("Loading of the TAR file into the switch")
2) From Cisco Network Assistant -> Maintenance -> Software update -> Upgrade Settings -> Mode: standard
- In the status it appears the error "Failed to execute the command archive download-sw /overwrite /http iosFile"
I have not any TFTP, FTP or RCP server.
I've already disabled the antivirus and the firewall on the PC.
Could you please help me?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards.
Francesco

I can guarantee 100% (because I've tried it) that 15.2(7)E-train is not compatible with plain 2960. Load it and the several of the drivers will crash because of incompatible components in the motherboard.
12.2(55)SE12 and 15.0(2)SE11 are the only two trains/versions I'd recommend for the "plain" 2960.

Hello @B2B Team
Do you have console access ?
Post the complete output to theses 2 following commands:
- sh version
- dir

OK @B2B Team
You don't want to upgrade via CLI ?
