1 non Cisco Router and 1 Cisco 2960x Switch with multiple vlans

Hi All!

is it possible to have Multiple VLans on one switch like

DATA, VOICE, ACCESS POINT.

Currently we have Aztech router from ISP.

for example i want my VLan to have this IP.

SUBNET Below

192.168.1.0

192.168.42.0

192.168.2.0

Thanks and Regards,

Re: 1 non Cisco Router and 1 Cisco 2960x Switch with multiple vlans

I would set the vlan interfaces on the router side using sub interfaces and use the switch as a layer 2 setup like a router an a stick
create the 3 vlans on the cisco switch , then setup a trunk on the switch side , set teh router interface back to teh switch as sub interfaces if the Aztech router is capable of that

example
http://www.firewall.cx/cisco-technical-knowledgebase/cisco-routers/336-cisco-router-8021q-router-stick.html

int g0/1
switch mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,20,20

vlan 10
name Data
vlan 20
name Voice
Vlan 30
name Wireless

another option would be create layer 3 between the router and switch using statics or basic IGP but your switch would need to support it in license, you can check to see if you have the command in global config on the 2960x ---ip routing -- to turn on L3 functions
