10 Gigabit Ethernet WS-X6704-10GE and WS-F6700-CFC

Hello,

the scenario is:

• CISCO7606-S
• SUP720-3BXL
• WS-F6700-CFC
• WS-X6724-SFP
• PWR-2700-AC (2x)
• IOS: 12.2(33)SRE2 advipservices

I need to install a new WS-X6704-10GE.

As far as I can see, everything should be fine (power requirements are met, chassis is ok, IOS is ok) but I have a doubt about CFC.

On the Guide to Supported Hardware for Cisco 7600 Series Routers with Cisco IOS Release 12.2SR I see WS-X6700-CFC is required, but on my chassis I have WS-F6700-CFC ("F" instead of "X"). I could not find any document about their differences.

Is the WS-X6704-10GE also compatible with my WS-F6700-CFC?

There must be either a typo in that document (in lots of places), or X6700-CFC and F6700-CFC are the same thing.

For example, the document also says X6700-CFC is required for the X6724-SFP card, and you clearly have an F6700-CFC on yours.  We have several 7606-S routers with X6704-10GE and X6724-SFP cards - unfortunately all 10GE cards have DFCs instead of CFCs now, so I cannot verify this at the moment, but I bet "show inventory" would display F6700-CFC and not X6700-CFC...

Also, Google Images finds absolutely nothing when searching only for X6700-CFC, but tons of results for F6700-CFC :).
