Hi all
One of my Catalyst 6509 VSS duo has for the last 24 hours been running with 100 % CPU usage:
I am not able to Telnet og SSH to the router, but console cable still works.
Runing IOS is sup-bootdisk:s72033-adventerprisek9-vz.122-33.SXI4.bin
As seen in the "show proc cpu" output inetd.proc, tcp.proc and ios.base takes up almost all of the CPU.
r-log-osls-s24-5-1#sho proc cpu | exclude 0.0%

16432 1.0% 1.0% 1.0% cdp2.iosproc

The ios-base usage I can understand since the IOS is modular base. But inetd.proc and tcp.proc I cannot understand.
I have cleared all hanging TCP sessions and issued the "undebug all" command but still no progress.
The system have been stable for over 3 years now, and no changes was made to the configuration at the time th CPU usage stared rising.
Thanks in advance
Geir

An udate to this issue.
"clear tcp tcb *" got the cpu usage to an acceptable level. But as soon as I try to SSH or Telnet to the router the CPU usage spikes again. And the inetd.proc and the tcp.proc are the processes with increased usage.
