I acquired a 1711 router that I am having problems getting the password to reset because the password recovery functionality has been disabled. I have followed the steps outlined in the TAC K13330028, but to no avail. Basically when I CTRL-BREAK and ask it to load factory defaults it just continues loading the config file as it normally does and once it gets through the kron commands I am unable to do anything. I read eslewhere on the net that one person drilled the rivets out of the WIC-1AM and removed it and was then able to reset it to the factory defaults, but this did not work for mine.
The IOS is: (C1700-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.3(4)XK
If you want me to post the boot-up info as well I will do it. Sorry if this isn't in the forum, but I wasn't sure were to post this. Any help would be much appreciated.
