2 switches 1 router

Hi guys, i'm trying to run 2 switches (2960 POE and other non POE) with 2 subnets on 1 router (cisco 2811).

One is basically only for 7911 phones and the other for CIPC connected to PCs with DHCP from a network router, but I cannot make each subnets to ping themselves. Thanks in advance for your feedback

Hi;

Just want to get more information how's your connectivity of switches & router.

& why you configure the sub-interface on interface F0/0.1, if you want to assign multiple subnet on same interface then use secondary key-word after assigning IP address.

Were you trying to configure router on a stick on your router to enable routing between different VLANs ?

If yes, then the config needs to be modified.

Normally Voice & Data Vlan are using different vlan. take a example we are using vlan 1 (Data) and vlan 2 (Voice)

Router Configuration:
interface FastEthernet0/0 description *** Trunk to Switch *** no ip address ! interface FastEthernet0/0.1 description *** Data vlan ***
encapsulation dot1Q 1
ip address 192.168.10.200 255.255.255.0
no shutdown
!
interface FastEthernet0/0.2
description *** Voice vlan ***
encapsulation dot1Q 2
ip address 10.110.7.40 255.255.255.0
no shut
Switch Configuration:
interface FastEthernet0/0 description *** Trunk to Router *** switchport
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q (normally this command required on old Cisco switches)

getting this message when entering the ip address config

% 192.168.10.0 overlaps with FastEthernet0/0

and

% 10.110.7.0 overlaps with FastEthernet0/0.1

any ideas?

First you need to remove the existing IP address on interface F0/0 & F0/0.1 then apply the configuration.

Just trying to figure it out if that would be my correct setup, attached you can find my current diagram.

Also, the  Fa0/0 should be connected to Data switch right? and Fa0/1 to Voice switch?

Would this setup allow me to configure softphones and hardphones and communicate between them?

If you are using separate ports for voice & Data it's also OK. depend on requirement:

If you want to configure the port you need to modify the following:

Router Configuration:
interface FastEthernet0/0 description *** Data vlan ***
ip address 192.168.10.200 255.255.255.0
no shutdown

description *** Voice Network ***
ip address 10.110.7.40 255.255.255.0
no shut

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.10.1

But with that setup I cannot reach my Router from my CIPC phones.

Be remember whenever you are configure sub-interface on Router don't configure any IP Address on physical interface. if you required to configure multiple IP address then use standby ip address. e.g:

interface FastEthernet0/0
 description *** Data vlan ***
ip address 192.168.10.200 255.255.255.0
ip address 10.110.7.40 255.255.255.0 standby
no shutdown
!
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.10.1

Maybe I should reexplain my case.

What i'm trying to do is to connect 2 switches to 1 router.

Switch1: IP: 192.168.10.1 <- ISP Gateway router assigns DHCP to my LAN and my computers which I need to run CIPCs 

Switch2: IP: 10.110.17.1 <- gateway which I have connected only phsysical telephones (7911) Working already. No access to internet

What I want to do is to have CIPC and 7911 phones in separate IP ranges and reach the router for outgoing and incoming calls to my E1 service and internal calls from extensions.

Right now, i cannot ping from my computers (192.168.10.1 gateway) to my cisco router or to my 7911 phones (10.110.17.1 gateway)
