I have purchased 2 2801 routers and they are making annoying noise. Just wanted to know is this normal, also I have attached the sound clip from 3550 switch to compare.
The 2801 should not make a lot of noise, less than a 3550 booting up. If it's not a new router, perhaps it's worth cleaning the fans with a small vacuum....
After listening to you recording that you have posted here. This router is defective and I would suggest that you return it to your supplier that has sold this to you. 28XX ISR router don't take this long to perform POST process.
i agree with peter 2801 should not make that much noise, i currently have 3 2801 router and 2 3550 switch, and 2801 is relatively quiter than 3550 switch. after listening to your recording, you router has some serious issue.
