I recently swapped some parts between 2921s to troubleshoot issues. It seems I no longer have the permanent license code that was on one of my 2921s! I know one had a permanent CME/srst feature license on it. Where is that information stored? I had swapped flash memory cards at one point to increase the size - did I remove the file that provided the CME feature license? Where are these licensed feature support codes stored when they are activated on a 2921? If I can't get the flash card back would Cisco have that key code available for reinstallation since I had to order it specifically for that device/serial number. Thanks

Hello gp1200x,
the license file is a file *.lic saved on the flash if you have changed the flash card the router doesn't find the license info at startup.
Store a copy of the license file in a file server so next time you will not have this problem again.
You should open a service request with TAC asking for help.
Edit:
if the flash is in another router you can configure that router as a TFTP server to retrieve the license file ( if that router has IP connectivity) on your PC and the later you can copy it to the other flash card in the router you would like to run CME
You will need a line like
ip tftp server flash:
then you retrieve the file using a TFTP client on your PC or directly from the target router.
I would try this way first.
Hope to help

Thanks,
I will have to check all my flash cards to see if I still have it or wiped it out. I never thought that Cisco would store it on a removeable flash....I always assumed it was stored on a small flash on the systemboard itself since it was unique for that machine. I'll look for a .lic file THANKS!.
