Hi,
If a port goes down on a cisco switch is it possible to pass the port down state through to another port to take the line protocol down? I have an issue where an upstream failure needs to be detected on the internal side of the network on the same switch, the best way would be if an external port goes down it will pass-through the down state to an internal port on the same vlan.
I would imagine this is possible, does anyone know how?
thankyou.

- Not possible, in a direct sense - but possible if appropriate network management tools are in place, such tools can react upon actions such as link-down traps received from a device and due to an 'attached handler' can then take any measure you implement.

Apologies its a 2960-X
BOOTLDR: C2960X Boot Loader (C2960X-HBOOT-M) Version 15.2(3r)E1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Can we use EMM to do it?

- Possibly but don't know enough details of EEM to confirm.
