Depends on your budget &/or what you're trying to do.
If you have no issue with finance and you want to play with DNAC &/or SD Access then 9300 will do.
If you want to play with DNAC then 9200L
If you just want to do static VLAN assignments then Catalyst 1000.

Hello,
recommended replacement switches for the 2960 are either the 2960 Plus, or the Catalyst 1000 switches.
For the 2960X, the Catalyst 9200 are the recommended replacements.

Hi!
It always depends on the use case and what features and how much capacity is needed.
But in general the successor of the 2960X is 9200, yes.
Catalyst 2960 is quite old, it actually got replaced by other 2960 models in the past, depending on the use case.
I mostly see both models being replaced by Catalyst 9200.
At some use cases maybe even with Catalyst 9300 for various (future proof) reasons.
Best regards
Juls

C1000 is ok but i feel good if you can buy Cat 9200 is suggested, if you have more budget CAt 9300 for Longer and Longer features wise and performance-wise.

The 9200 series is expensive compared with the 1000. Especially if you only need 8 ports - an option the 9200 doesnt offer.
Do the 1000 range have traditional features such as:
serial or USB console with IOS CLI interface?
QoS functionality?
Ability to work with Cisco NAC solutions such as ISE?
An IP services/advanced software option to support protocols such as EIGRP?
Apart from newer features such as SDWAN, what does the 9200 range have over the 1000?

Catalyst 1000 is purely a Layer 2 switch. For EIGRP then look at 9300/9300L and the recently-announced 9300X.

Cat 9200 is just layer2 deployment, not major features supported compare to Cat 9300. its all depends on budget.
check some comparision between Cat 9K
