Hi,

I Have WS-C2960S-48TS-S with version 12.2(55)SE5 and image C2960S-UNIVERSALK9-M.

I'm having problems adding more the 64 vlans.

show vtp status shows:

Feature VLAN:

--------------

VTP Operating Mode                : Transparent

Maximum VLANs supported locally   : 64

Number of existing VLANs          : 64

Configuration Revision            : 0

MD5 digest                        : 0x7B 0xC2 0xDD 0x12 0xF4 0x5D 0x71 0x94

                                    0x9F 0x44 0x6A 0x4D 0xCC 0x2C 0x86 0x6E

Is it a image limitation or VTP problem ?

Thanks!

Hi Daniel,

it's a license limitation for that platform, see:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps6406/qa_c67-577519.html

The last letter in the product ID. If the last letter is "-L," it's LAN Base. If it's "-S," it's LAN Lite.

Q. Can a Cisco Catalyst 2960-S Series LAN Lite switch be upgraded to LAN Base?

A. No. The feature set is bound to the hardware model. To get the features and capabilities of LAN Base, you must purchase a LAN Base switch.

Hope that helps

Rolf

I have to ask why would you need more than 64 on a 2960 platform ,thats way more than you should need on a platform like that.

It's on my QA network, we have a lot of pepole testing on the network and each one has is own stack of vlans.

so we have about 200 vlans
