Is the 2960-X a full L3 switch like intervlan routing, qos, etc, or does it have basic L3 functionality? I found the data sheet, but I can't find anything about intervlan routing. Would it be better to go to a 3750?
Thanks!

Hi John,
I found this list of documents and also Q&A.
There is mentioned
Table 1. Feature Sets Supported in 2960-X Series
So it seems that 2960-X does not support L3 functionality.

Hi John,
The 2900-X series device are mainly layer-2 switches with very limited routing capacities, if any (see link below).
I would rather use a 3750 or 3850. If you need basic routing, IP Base is good enough, if you need full OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VRF, etc.. support you need IP Services license.

Reza/Jan,
Thanks for your response. The 2960-XR is the one that was proposed. I found that out after posting, but I did found that it seems the 2960-XR does support vlan routing. Do any of you have experience with this? I'm only going to have at the most 5 or 6 vlans on it, but would need qos, standard l2 security features, and standard routing.
Thanks!

John,
I personally have not used the X or XR series. From your requirement, it appears that XR deoes what you need, but if I had the budget, I would go with 3560 or 3750.

Hi
I was looking for answers about this query if the 2960x supports L3
I just got a 2960X-48FPL device for a client (but it was requested for final devices, L2) so I set it up with data and voice access ports, an SVI for all ok management, at the end as a test I wanted to configure L3 .
When I wanted to apply L3 commands I can not support, for example RIP, if you mention it in your datashett (Filtren by RIPv1) if it says that it supports, but does not support it, I applied the ip routing command but it did not leave me at the CLI level , what it supports is to create static routes, (configure up to 10 and all normal)
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-2960-x-series-switches/datasheet_c78-728232.html
In short, the 2960X if it supports static routeo, but not dynamic (at least RIP if you mention it in your datashet)
It does not support inter-vlan, it also configures it and it does not work, for this a layer 3 switch is required to do this or a router. So if you want to segment the network you can not do it with a 2960x you have to have a 3650, 3850 with ip base.
The 2960XR switches do support inter-vlan and static and dynamic routing (only RIP probe as dynamic routing protocol)
I hope I have helped you.
Greetings.
