2960X Password Recovery_Without Press Mode Button

Hello,

We have 2960X in one of our remote site & we don't have physical access to the site.

We need to reset its password. As per password recovery doc, one need to press mode button during switch startup to get into password recovery mode. Since we don't have physical access, unfortunately we can't press mode button.

Is there any way that we can reset password remotely without pressing mode button ?

No that im aware of you need the mode button to break the boot sequence , even if you had console acces through a terminal server remote I don't think the 2960 uses the ctrl/break function which is the other method some platforms use to do password recovery by breaking the boot seq

Hi there,

If you have login access to switch with any of user account, log in to the switch and do the password change.

If you don't have a password of switch, unfortunately you need to have a console cable and physical access to the switch to reset password as explained in document.
