2960x serial console problem

Hi Team

I have an issue with 2960x switch, i can console with cisco usb console but  i can console with serial, i wanted 

to transfer ios using xmodem,,what could be the issue with the serial console? will appreciate assistance

when i connect with serial port i just get a blank screen, but when i use the usb cable it works fine,, dont what the issue is, i have also tried the serial cable with other switches it works fine,but on this one it doesnt work, only the cisco usb consoles works

Hi Kipbenard,

Try to take the access of the device using USB and then run the command show run and check whether the line con 0 is enabled or not, if enabled check is there any policy or something running that is not allowing to take the access.

Since you are saying you are able to take the access of other devices with the same cable and same parameters. It might be possible that the console port is faulty.

try to reboot your switch and enter MINI IOS model to check if you have a right setting  Baud rate

the current rate should be 9600 N 8 1
