3560 doesnt keep vtp information

Hi Guys,

I m having a problem with 3560 POE it doesnt keeps VTP information.It is configured as clinet,no vtp password and proper domain name.Stange thing is that sometimes it get vtp info and sometimes not.

Please help.

Hi Mahmood,

What does the command "show vtp status" output show?

Note the Configuration Revision in the output.Is it increasing each time?

Notice the last statement which will be something like -

...

...

Configuration last modified by 192.168.1.2 at 5-18-07 01:01:19

This means the the vtp information was modified by the vtp server 192.168.1.2

When there is no vtp info what is this ip and when you have the vtp info note the ip. Are these ips different?

do u have more than one vtp servers?

Who is the vtp server ? Also make sure the vtp domain name matches exactly . If it working correctly the vtp version number should match between client and server when doing a show vtp status .
