Hello,

can you manually boot the switch (hold down to 'mode' button during the boot sequence and use the 'flash_init' and 'boot' commands) ?

I would give reformatting the flash a try and see if that makes a difference...

Yes, I am able able to get to recovery mode while holding the mode button on power up. I am able to read the flash with no issue. I thought maybe the IOS image was corrupted so I deleted and copied a newer version via xmodem. I booted with the new image and the same issue occurs where it hangs at the same point as above. Not sure what else I can do to troubleshoot. I suppose I can format the flash and see if that helps but then I have another 4 hour wait time to upload the image again.

Hello,

RMA is obviously the last option...

If you do a 'dir flash:' at the 'switch' prompt, are there any files in the directory that might look like they don't belong there ?

Before formatting the flash, if you decide to do that, run a consistency check with the 'fsck -test flash:' command...

I formatted the flash already. Doing the fsck flash: did not find any errors but did see a directory which I dont see listed. Copying the IOS image via xmodem again. Will be about 4.5 hours.

switch: fsck flash:
Are you sure you want to fsck "flash:" (could take some time) (y/n)?y
