I currently have a 3750 stack running 12.2(50)SE C3750-IPBASEK9-M
I need to add another swtich to the stack the switch is a 3750X. Since I can't use the same code won't I have a version mismatch when I incert the new switch since the 3750X can't be upgrade to the same code the rest of the existing stack is running?

i would suggest you have the same version of code running on the member switches in the stack and also with the same feature set. - If you make sure of this then you should get the switches up in the stack.

Is it correct to say that code 12.2(50)SE C3750-IPBASEK9-M can't be installed on a 3750X switch?

Same IOS version and feature will avoid stack misbehavior.
You can also set up a high priority value to your stack master (15, which is the highest priority) to ensure that the new member will not take the master role (and then lose the configuration).
And to be complete, you can provision the new member with a switch id (switch 2 provision c3750x-xx).
Enjoy!

It can't be updated to the same code, but you can/should use the "same version" of IOS.
