3850 and CNA (Cisco Network Assistant)

Hi,

trying to upgrade to the catalyst 3850 switches and using CNA.

The Smartports are working in CNA on the old 3560's, on the 3850 I only can select the role "none" in CNA.

I expected to see the buildin macro's?

Is there something I misunderstood?

I configure the:

macro auto global processing

terminal shell

show shell functions, is displaying the code

Versions:

CNA: 6.3.3

Cisco IOS Software [Denali], Catalyst L3 Switch Software (CAT3K_CAA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 16.3.6, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

Hi there,

According to the CNA 6.3.3 release notes the only IOS-XE verison offically supported is 16.1.x on the 3850. With other software versions your milage may vary.

Thanks Sub!

Don't like to downgrade the new switches, upgrade in the future will always be hard to manage I'm afraid.

I hope on a new update in the future of CNA to fix the problem with the 3850 switch version 16.3, in the meantime i need to use the CLI i'm expecting.

cna.jpgHi,

I've got also similar issue CNA at the last release 6.3.3, and C3850 at 16.3.7 and front panel in CNA are not correct :

no animations no good configuration

Wouldn't hold your breath.  These switches will be EOL before they get around adding them to CNA.  CNA is a free tool.  Cisco wants you to pay for PRIME etc. I simply have shortcuts to the GUI interface on each switch.  Works way better than CNA ever did or probably ever will.
