3850 Flash Memory Removable?

Hi,

If I store a copy of the startup config in flash could the flash chip be removed and installed in another 3850 in the event of a device failure?

Alexander,

Flash is internal storage of the switch (not removable), you can save the copy of startup configuration on the usbflash0: and then transfer it to the other switch in case of any failure.

if your new switch is reachable from the switch where you save the backup, please follow the Cisco doc to copy the backup without removing or connecting the usbflash.

The other option is you can copy the backup to your laptop using the tftp32 applications or any other application and you can copy back to the switch same way.
