Hello,
I have done a software upgrade on many 3850s and 1 of them didn't install all the way. I have not reloaded any of the switches yet, so the old version 3.7.4 is still active.
It's a stack of 5 running 03.07.04 - attempting to install 03.06.06.
Used this command: software install file flash:xxxxx on-reboot switch 1 - 5
It never completed, but a lot of the pkg files remain in flash. I decided to re-do the install by deleting the 3.6.6 pkg files, but when I go to delete them, the switch says "Deleting it may prevent the system from booting on the next reload."
Should I proceed? Or should I just leave the files there and re-install 3.6.6? Will it overwrite them or delete them with a software clean command?
Thank you

Hi,
Just re-install 3.6.6 for now and than when everything is working remove the old packages with software clean command.

What is/are the error message(s) when the software installation doesn't complete?
