3Com 5500G Compatibility with 6509-E (10 GE with X2)
We have currently deployed a network based on a 10GE X2 backbone platform. To fulfill some requirement a 3rd Party company wants to connect a 3Com 5500G switch to our network. I have to assess wether this switch can physically connect to our network (to our Catalyst 6509-E switches with 16 10GE ports with X2). I would to know if someone has ever worked with such an integration (Physical) and if our configuration (Campus Virtualization using MPLS and VRF, OSPF as IGP, Layer 2 Trunk to 3COM with limited VLAN) would face any problem to anyone's knowledge. Let me know if more information is needed and thanks in advance to anyone that might help.
