40G VSS Link Case

i have a customer which has two Catalyst 6807 which we use as Core equipment.

The two Catalyst 6807 are each of them running with one Supervisor Engine SUP-2T.

Between the two Catalyst 6807 we have a 2x10G VSS Link. We want to increase the VSS Link from 10G to 40G.

In the Catalysts we have in each of the Catalysts one C6800-8P40G module.

I have no chance to change the catalysts from a commercial point of view.

So we have to increase from 2x10G to 2x40G over the 40G modules.

I know that it is not recommended by Cisco, but does this mean that it is technical impossible ?

If it is technical impossible why is it not recommended ?

What are the risks to do it that way ?

According to the datasheet (see table-1), both XL and non-XL modules can be used to form VSS.
