4507 Supervisor II+ Redundant Link question

Can't seem to find an answer to this question, perhaps you guys can help me out!

I have a 4507R with Dual Sup2 Plus, with 4 GBIC fiber uplinks to a 4948 switch. I know you can only have 2 uplinks active at a time, but the active ones in this situation are g1/1 and g2/1. Now with this setup, I would assume that the active ports would be the 2 on the active supervisor. If I were to lose a supervisor, say the one in slot 1, would both ports on slot 2's sup take over? (I have etherchannel setup to have all 4 uplinks in a channel)

Hi Friend,

If you have 2 Supervisors only one uplink port will be enable on each Supervisor, so in redundancy you would be able to only use 2 ports (not the four of them) and one would be on the Active Sup and the other will be active on the second Sup, even though, you will be able to create an etherchannel on those ports.

If your active supervisor goes down then both the ports on standby supevrisor will become active for you.
