4507R+E Installation with SUP8-E

Hi guys,

I am about to install a 4507R+E system with a single SUP8-E. (Second SUP coming in few months).

I tried to search but there are so many older SUPs documentation it's so confusing.

Is there any installation steps that I can use? 

What is the version of IOS that should be installed so its both latest and stable?

How do I enable those 8 10G uplink ports on the SUP?

Please give some guidance.

Hi,

This link provides the installation guide for the 4500 series. Since this is the first sup, it will need to go to slot 5 and the redundant will go to slot 6.  The modules can go to any other slot.

As for the IOS, it is hard to tell because they all have their own issues and bugs.  You would have to look at different versions and read the release notes to make sure there is no major bug in the one you are installing..
